A technical hard-surface modeling and look development study focused on bridging CAD precision with game-ready polygonal optimization. The project explores tactical, cyberpunk, and industrial sci-fi weapon concepts, prioritizing real-time engine compatibility, efficient polygon budgets, and clean normal map baking workflows.
Key Highlights
Game-Ready Topology & Optimization: Retopologized complex high-poly CAD geometry into clean, low-poly game assets with optimized polycounts, smart texture density distribution, and tight UV packing.
Hybrid CAD & Sub-D Pipeline: Leveraged Autodesk Fusion for CAD booleans and curves, paired with 3ds Max for low-poly optimization, subdivision smoothing, and precise baking preparation.
Aesthetic Range: Executed three distinct designs—a hyper-realistic tactical firearm (Kriss Vector), a graphic cyberpunk weapon with custom decal passes, and a heavy industrial sci-fi railgun (SEO-3).
LookDev & Shading: Developed multi-layered shader networks to capture precise material contrasts between matte polymers, brushed alloys, and micro-surface wear while maintaining shading integrity across hard-surface bevels.
